Shauna M. LaMaina

Financial Advisor

Motto: “Hard work pays off.”

While not official until June 2018, Shauna LaMaina has been a familiar face and voice at Cornerstone Financial Advisors, Inc. for more than five (5) years. Those who work at the family-owned firm have known her even longer as she is the daughter who chose to follow in the footsteps of her father and firm founder, Michael J. LaMaina CFP®, ChFC®. In a position where no two days are the same, Shauna is hands on and responsible for money management, retirement planning and asset allocation based on the unique needs of each client. She has her Series 7, Series 6, Series 63, and Series 65 held through LPL Financial and Life, Health & Disability Insurance licenses.

Shauna actively interned throughout college. As an apprentice and para financial planner with Cornerstone Financial Advisors during summer breaks, she developed the firm's client database and was an integral part in organizing and researching client files and accounts in preparation for comprehensive financial reviews. Her experience also included honing her skills as a Financial Services Sales Assistant with Ameriprise Financial where she worked side by side with advisors to assist with meeting preparation, client reviews and processing paperwork for investments and insurance.

An honors graduate of Kean University, Shauna received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance with a minor in accounting. She did more than take classes during her 4-year college career; Shauna was a member of the Kean University Accounting Club and Programming Board: Traditions, Community and Life Skills as well as National Society of Collegiate Scholars. When not studying, Shauna was on the university's field hockey and lacrosse teams. In 2016 and 2017, she was honored to be named a Field Hockey All-American. Shauna shared her athletic skill and experience as a coach with Rebels Lacrosse, helping young athletes develop their performance as a player, teammate and leader.

Shauna was born and raised in Oaklyn, NJ where she remains active in sports and fitness, playing in various women's sports leagues. No longer just a field hockey and lacrosse enthusiast, her passion extends to the car racing — just another way she is following in her father's footsteps. As a mentor throughout her life, Shauna credits him for instilling an insatiable work ethic and desire to provide the best life for his family — something she looks forward to sharing when the time comes.
